Marcia Paula Dawn Elcyzyn

Marcia Paula Dawn Elcyzyn, lovingly known by her family as "Ditto" and "Place," passed away on July 15, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the young age of 52, surrounded by love.

Born on July 10, 1973, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marcia lived a life rooted in care, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. She found joy and purpose in being a homemaker and caretaker, with an unmatched talent for making those around her feel seen, cared for, and loved. Spoiling her babies, whether they were her children, grandkids, or anyone lucky enough to be loved by her, was her greatest joy.

Marcia had a passion for crafting, journaling, and collecting trinkets that others might overlook but that meant the world to her. She believed deeply in the power of kindness, often saying: “Do good, get good,” and “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

She is preceded in death by her mother Shirley Adair, father Donald Elcyzyn, and sister Terri Adair.

She is survived by her beloved children: William Spencer, Joseph Spencer, Levi Detel, Autumn Arnold, Summer Marshall, Shane Elcyzyn, and Madison Elcyzyn ; her cherished grandchildren: Roxas, Milli, Nova, and Layla; her sister Cathi Dale, brother Stephen Elcyzyn, and nieces Alissa Bogle and Amber Adair.

A personal message Marcia leaves behind: “I loved everyone in my family. I wanted to be better, and I did what I could. I'm sorry if anyone feels shorted. I'm hoping my family will see the good in me. I really wasn’t given a fair chance with life, but I didn’t do too bad with those damages.”

Marcia’s life wasn’t always easy, but she met it with grit, humor, and an unwavering heart. Her legacy is one of love, honesty, creativity, and deep care. She longed to be remembered not just for the hard parts, but for the strength and light she gave, even in the midst of them.

She will be missed more than words can ever say.
