Marcus Laron Forbes

Marcus L. Forbes was born to Anita ‘Karen’ Ray and James B. Roland on January 2, 1984 in Kansas City, MO.
He was educated within the KCMO Public School District at the following institutions: B.W. Sheperd and R.J. Delano. Marcus obtained his High School diploma from R.J. Delano with exceedingly exceptional computer skills. Marcus journeyed into the workforce dedicating 10 years of service at Blue Valley Industries.

He enjoyed working with computers, video games and making music for family and friends. Marcus loved spending time with his family, going to the library and operating his CD business. He was extraordinary when dealing with numbers. If you needed a number, birthdate, address, you could ALWAYS depend on Marcus to give you the info. As the life of the party, you could count on Marcus to be forever your hype man.

Marcus departed life on October 20, 2023. He was preceded in death by his Grandfathers: Clyde T. Forbes Sr. and James O. Roland Sr. Grandmothers: Ruby Ellen Forbes and Lillie Pearl Robinson, Aunts: Ruth D. Gilbert, Rathena A. Forbes, Uncles: Robert E. Forbes (Diane), Raymond L. Forbes (Catherine), James O. Roland, and Willie Ray Robinson.

Marcus leaves to cherish his memory his parents: Anita ‘Karen’ Ray (Eric) and James B. Roland (Patricia), Siblings: Shelita Anderson (Rodney), James Forbes (Latisa), Rachel Roland, Rashaun Roland, Jamel Roland, Tracy Slayden, and Antonio Slayden, His special sisters: Lydia Williams and Nakisha Tivis, all of Kansas City, Missouri With love he also leaves his Uncles: Clyde T. Forbes Jr., John Forbes (Kellie), James T. Roland, Michael Roland, Aunts: Anita C. Forbes (Robert), Marla Briggs (Michael), Leslie Forbes (Curtis), Clydetta Gilliam (Eddie) and Mary Forbes. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 9, 2023, visitation will be held from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. with services beginning at 11 A.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Creamation Services, LLC located at 2800 East 18th st. KCMO 64127.
