Margaret Helen Spotser was born in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Margaret Carr and raised, mentored and loved by Grandma Hayden and John. She dedicated her entire career to working for the U.S. Government, a commitment her sons fondly remember. However, her most enduring accomplishment was raising, guiding, encouraging, and loving her three sons every day of their lives. Margaret married once, and though that chapter ended, she remained steadfast in ensuring her sons grew into strong men. Known affectionately as “The Pistol ” for her straightforward nature—she always said what she meant and meant what she said. She was committed to providing her sons with a broad and culturally rich upbringing.
Margaret found joy in various activities, with the highlight of her year being the annual birthday celebrations with her sister, Rosemary Chatman, at the casino—a tradition they cherished for many years. She loved her pets, fishing, and watching classic cowboy and mystery shows.
Margaret is survived by her three sons, Skeet, Darwin, and Anthony Spotser; her siblings Rosemary Chatman, Betty Walker, Edith Sullivan, Karen Gaston, James Spotser, Ezzard Harrison, James Hayden, John Haydon Jr., and James Hayden; and her grandchildren Skeet Spotser Jr., Christopher Spotser, and great grandchildren Melo, and Josiah. Her memory lives on through the love and strength she instilled in her family.
