Mark William Herzberg

If you knew Mark…..
Mark William Herzberg passed away, in KC, May 1, 2023. He was born in Cleveland July 26, 1950 to Nancy and Noble Herzberg. The oldest of three sons, Mark was a big brother to Chris and Jeff. Mark attended Cleveland Heights, (an alum like Jason and Travis Kelce), after high school Mark attended Defiance College until he became ill. After his illness, he joined his father in KC, who was the architect and engineer at the Royal Stadium. Sadly, his dad died before completion, and Mark stayed in KC. He knew cars inside and out and worked for various Car Dealerships, got married and had a son Heath Wade.

I met Mark in the late 80’s, He was starting his own business, Mark Herzberg and Associates, designing, selling and applying advertising graphic decals for cars, truck fleets and trains. He worked mainly with companies and screen printers on the East coast, and traveled around the country. He gave a number of presentations and demonstrations of application techniques, at different conventions . Mark was written up in International Screen Printers magazine, for the research and development work done on Tedlar, with Dupont/WH Brady.

Mark liked to bowl, fish, golf, play pool and especially hike and jeep in the Colorado mountains. He was the KC Champion 8 Ball Pool player, once bowled a 300 game, played in many golf tournaments and loved to have fish fry’s, with the fish he caught. He was also a big fan of our champion Royals and Chiefs teams.

I always thought that Murphy’s Law should be renamed Mark‘s Law. If it was going to happen, it was going to happen to Mark, and the health issues started and never stopped. This prevented Mark from doing all the physical work entailed in graphics installation.
Two years ago Mark was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer of the jaw, and started radiation and chemotherapy treatments. He entered hospice care at my home, in mid November, and I became his full time caregiver. Mark is finally free of the pain and suffering he endured……He’s Free. Let’s celebrate, he’s once again reunited with his son Heath and parents Nancy and Noble.
Thanks to Vitas Hospice for all their assistance, especially Kathy and Rubin.

A Celebration of Life for Mark will be held, Memorial Day/May 29, 2-5, at my home. Mary…MJM☘️
