In Loving Memory of Marshetta Miller-Higgins, December 28, 1976 – October 20, 2026. Marshetta Miller-Higgins, affectionately known as “M&M” and “Marshmallow,” was born on December 28, 1976, in Kansas City, Missouri, and spent her life surrounded by family and loved ones. At 49, Marshetta departed this life on October 19, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Marshetta was a woman with a big, bold personality and a presence that could light up a room. She was known for her loud, vibrant spirit, her love for being around family, and the unforgettable memories she created with those closest to her. She was unapologetically herself, bringing her own special energy to every family gathering and making moments together all the more memorable.

A devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan, Marshetta enjoyed watching football and cheering on her favorite team. Her love for family was evident in the little things she did to bring everyone together. Whether she was baking cakes for family events or making Easter baskets for her nieces and nephews, Marshetta showed her love through thoughtful gestures and traditions that her family will continue to cherish.

Family was an important part of Marshetta’s life. She treasured opportunities to gather with loved ones, celebrate special occasions, and create memories that would last a lifetime. Her personality, laughter, and the love she shared with those around her made her special in ways that words alone cannot fully express.

Marshetta leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, William Higgins; her children, Keshawna Miller-Cathron and Deshawn Nichols; her grandchildren, Keveon Greer, Keith Miller, and Contavious Cathron; her siblings, Derrick Woods and Rosetta Barber; and a host of other relatives and loved ones who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara Miller, as well as Timothy Woods, Verneal Woods, and Jones Woods Sr.Though Marshetta’s time on earth has come to an end, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will live on through the people whose lives she touched. Her family will forever remember her as M&M and Marshmellow—a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished family member whose bold personality and love for togetherness made her one of a kind.

Marshetta will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. Though her voice may be silent, the memories of her giggle, her traditions, and her unmistakable spirit will continue to bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.

A service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services LLC, 2800 East 18th Street, KCMO 64127. The visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am with the service to follow promptly at 11:00 am.

The Interment will take place at XII Gates Memorial Gardens, 9500 East Bannister Rd. KCMO 64138
