Mary Elizabeth Howard

Mary Elizabeth Howard was born on March 31, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Leo Howard Sr. and Alice L. Howard. She was affectionately known to family and friends as “Little Mary.” She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her sister Jane L. Burns, and her brother Leo Robert Howard Jr.

Mary received her education at B.W. Shepard School and went on to work at the Kansas City Regional Center for many years. She was also a dedicated volunteer at Pat’s Play Land for several years, where the children loved her.

Mary gave her life to Christ at an early age and attended several churches throughout her lifetime. She was a member of True Faith Outreach Ministries, where she was a faithful servant until the church’s closure.

Mary was welllllllllllllllll known in her community and loved by many. She was small in stature, feisty, and had a big loving heart. She enjoyed hanging out with her family and friends, dancing, singing, watching old cowboy movies and Madea movies, and playing the Wii bowling video game while talking trash to her opponents. Most of all, she loved celebrating her birthday and going to the casino with her favorite brother-in-law.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three sisters: Carla Howard, Rosalind Brown (Raechard), and Rozann Howard-Fredricks (Aaron), along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC, 2800E. 18th St. Kansas City, MO 64127. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, the service will follow at 11:00 AM. Her resting place will be at XII Gates Memorial Gardens Cemetery , 9500 Bannister Rd, Kansas City, MO 64134
