In Loving Memory of Michael “Dallas” Smith
March 3, 1964 – August 6, 2026. Michael “Dallas” Smith, 62, of Kansas City, Missouri, departed this life on August 3, 2026. He was born on March 3, 1964, in Dallas, Texas, to Patricia Halley and Billy Peters (Valco). Michael was raised in Dallas, Texas, and was a proud graduate of Kimball High School, Class of 1982. Throughout his life, Michael was known as a loving, caring, and devoted family man who deeply valued spending time with those he loved. Affectionately known as “Dallas,” Michael was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who loved football and the excitement of cheering on his favorite team. He also enjoyed playing cards with his family. Those card games were filled with laughter, friendly competition, good conversation, and memories that his loved ones will cherish for years to come. Above all, Michael’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Whether gathered around the card table, watching football, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Michael treasured the moments he spent surrounded by family and friends. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his children, Michael Smith of Dallas, Texas; Mikus Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; and Takeya Davis of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Leah Smith and Michael Smith; his mother, Patricia Halley; his father, Billy Peters (Valco); his sisters, Quiera Peters and Zeolana Howard; his special friend, Latreece Meade; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Michael was preceded in death by his stepfather, Matthew Halley; his sisters, Simone Gaston and Kimberley Cook; his beloved Patricia Roney, whom he loved and cherished as a sister; and his nephew, Marquis Cook. Michael’s memory will live on through the love he gave, the stories shared in his honor, the laughter from family gatherings, the card games, the Dallas Cowboys football games he enjoyed, and the many special moments he created throughout his 62 years of life. Though his presence will be deeply missed, “Dallas” will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted family man whose greatest happiness came from being surrounded by the people he loved. His legacy of love, family, laughter, and togetherness will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever. Forever Loved. Forever Remembered.
