Michael A. Vinnage

Michael (Mike) A Vinnage passed away November 17, 2023.
Mike was born June 19, 1962 in Cincinnati, OH to Donald Vinnage and Barbara Woolworth Vinnage. He was the second of three children.  His family moved to Overland Park when Mike was in grade school and he attended Brookridge Elementary and Nallwood Jr High.

The family moved to Iola, Ks in 1975, he graduated from Iola High School in 1980 where he played football and golf and was ranked one of the top golfers in the state of Kansas during that time. Mike attended The University of Kansas, majoring in Business Administration, and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

In 1989, Mike married Jodi Miller and they raised three wonderful children, in Lenexa and Overland Park, during their 25 year union.  Mike was a successful business owner (All-Star Painting Co.) and took great pride in his talents and the customer relationships he built over the 35 years he was in business.

Mike was athletic and loved all sports but his true passion was golf and he was both an outstanding player and teacher of the game. He had the privilege of playing many of the top courses all over the US and loved his regular foursome like family.
He was passionate about coaching his kids soccer teams and attending their various activities when they were growing up. He was an avid KU fan and enjoyed sharing that passion with his children.
Mike never met a stranger, had a contagious smile,  and was fortunate to have close friends from Iola and KU he considered brothers.

Mike fought a courageous battle with Huntingtons disease for 15 years. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Barbara, his brother, Jay Vinnage, and his sister, Kimberly Vinnage Brown.
He is survived by his father, Donald Vinnage, sons Connor Vinnage, Taylor (Sarah) Vinnage and daughter Lauren Vinnage (Martin) Swank.

The family would like to thank Laura and all the wonderful staff at Good Shepard Hospice for their care of Mike in his final months.
A celebration of life is being planned for spring 2024.

In remembrance of Mike’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Hereditary Disease Foundation at hdfoundation.org to help further research needed to cure Huntington’s Disease.
