Mildred Faye
Hess
Mar 30, 1961 — Jun 19, 2021
Kansas City
Mildred Faye “Mooney” Hess (Anders) March 30, 1961 – June 19, 2021. Mildred Faye “Mooney” Hess, 60, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 19, 2021. She was born on March 30, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Vera Lee Anders Wymore and William Anders Sr. Mildred was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Lee Wymore; her father, William Anders Sr.; her stepfather, John Gerry Wymore; and her brothers, Samuel Anders and John L.Wymore.
Mildred leaves behind her husband, David Hess. She is also survived by her sister, Rhonda Anders, and her brother, William “Billy” Anders, along with several stepsisters and stepbrothers. Her greatest legacy was her three daughters: Melissa Hickman, Angel Bailey, and April Sutherland. Mildred loved her girls fiercely and devoted her life to them. She was not only their mother, but their hero, protector, and greatest source of strength. Mildred was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and she leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her love and memory with them for generations to come.
Mildred spent much of her working life in the restaurant industry, working as a general manager at Shoney’s and Denny’s. She was a hardworking woman who knew how to take care of people and never hesitated to give of herself to those she loved. But of everything she accomplished in her life, being a mom was her greatest accomplishment. Mildred survived more than most people will ever know. Life tested her in many ways, but she kept going. She fought through hardships, protected her children, and continued to care for the people she loved. Her daughters knew her as someone who would stand beside them, fight for them, and love them no matter what.
She gave her heart to her family. To her husband, she was a devoted wife. To her siblings, she was family and a lifelong connection. To her daughters, she was Mom—and their hero. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was a grandmother whose love will remain a part of them forever. Mildred “Mooney” Hess left behind a family that carries pieces of her with them every day: in their memories, in their stories, and in the love she gave so freely.
She was a mother. She was a wife. She was a sister. She was a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a survivor. And above all, she was deeply loved. Her family and friends will forever miss her, but the love she gave them will never leave. Mildred “Mooney” Hess will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed. Endlessly
