Monica Ann Sellaro (Larson) was born September 12th, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, to parents Martha Boutross and the late “Bud” Larson. She ascended to Heaven on March 10th, 2024.
Monica had an avid love for music, literature, art, and truly anything creative. She also had a love of nature; she enjoyed gardening and just getting outside to enjoy the elements.
Throughout her life, she had a passion to influence and nurture others around her. Many who knew her may have called her stubborn, but she was open to change with some convincing.
Monica graduated from the Loretto Academy in 1979. She briefly attended Missouri Western University, but her passion and love of blues and jazz pulled her away from college life. She worked many jobs over the years, from retail and hair salon assistance to culinary work.
As time passed, her presence in the Kansas City blues and jazz scene diminished, and she went on to become a homemaker. She had four children: her late son Daniel Duncan, her oldest daughter Kathryn Sellaro, son David Larson, and daughter Alistaire Duncan, who has chosen to honor her mother’s creative endeavors in her own career as an artist.
She will always be remembered for her creativity, humor, and love for others, even when she didn’t seem to love herself.
Monica Sellaro, 63, of Kansas City, Missouri, died on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born Monday, September 12, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Bud Larson and Martha Letchenberg Boutross.
