Monte Willard Scarborough

Monte Willard Scarborough, 75, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away September 16th, 2025, at University of Kansas Medical Center, where he was following complications from pneumonia. Born November 2nd, 1949, in Kansas City, Kan., to Donald Dean and Betty Lou Scarborough. Mr. Scarborough graduated from Washington High school. He was married for 53 years to Nancy Carol Scarborough. Nancy met Monte in the Older Youth Group at church. 

She was so impressed with how loving he was to everyone. Monte loved his family and community. He worked various jobs over the years, always with a focus on service to others. Everyone who knew him, knew that he’d give them the shirt off of his back. Zoom allowed him to thrive online with multiple church communities. 

He saw his participation in these church families as his ministry. His son Jason Allen, was born June 8th, 1982, and his daughter, Cynthia Dawn, September 13th, 1984. His grandchildren Kamari Dean, Tatsuo Alan, and Raiden Silas were the source of much joy in his life. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, grandsons, sister Elizabeth Ann, as well as many friends. 

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, at Bethel Community of Christ Church, 8510 Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kan., 66109.
