IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phillip Damian
Kinsley
February 20, 1983 – January 3, 2026
In Loving Memory of Phillip “Sweetstuff” Kinsley
A celebration of life will be announced in the coming months.
Phillip Damian Kinsley was born February 20, 1983, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Robert Kinsley Sr. and Nila Kinsley.
Phil served in the United States Air Force for 14 years as an instructor and jet engine mechanic. He was medically retired as a Technical Sergeant (TSgt). During his enlisted time in Texas, he also attended tech school for welding, which he used primarily for repair and fabrication of roll cages and import car modifications. Phil won several trophies and achieved top 1/4-mile and 1/8-mile drag times racing his Mitsubishi Starion and Dodge Conquest.
Phil also loved music and played drums from an early age until he became too ill about a year ago. He was the drummer for Arson Class, a popular Kansas City punk rock band, since 2016.
He grew up with a passion for baseball, playing in school and later coaching his own boys in T-ball and beyond. Phil put 100% into everything he did.
Phil and Bobbie met as kids and married at 18 and 21, then promptly moved overseas to England to begin his Air Force career. Their love was fast, furious, and magical for 25 years. They were married for 24 of those years.
On November 27, 2011, Bobbie and Phillip welcomed twin boys, Damian and Dexter, now 14 years old, who completed his life. He always wanted to be a dad. He gave them every opportunity he could and was hands-on from day one. He was constantly planning adventures and trips.
Phil is survived by his parents, Bob and Nila Kinsley; two brothers, Bobby and Chris; his sons, Damian and Dexter Kinsley; his mother-in-law, Lissa Aubuchon; his brother-in-law, Randy Aubuchon; two sisters-in-law, Jen Kean and Crystal Kinsley; his aunts and uncles, including Bill and Kim Kinsley, Marilyn Kinsley, Harvey and Theresa Kinsley, and Raymond and Hjounga Kinsley; and many friends.
Phil fought a long battle with a rare liver cancer. He fought with courage, bravery, and love. He never complained and was an example to all.
On January 3, 2026, he passed at home with family.
We will forever hold you dear and use your love and strength as an example to carry us through the hard things. You will also remain our example of how to celebrate life’s joys.
