Phyllis Octavia Johnson

Phyllis Octavia Johnson was born October 13, 1937 to Lettie Fristoe-Hayes and Ira Hayes in Salisbury Mo. Phyllis was the 8 th born of 11 children. She attended Dalton High School, but graduated from Salisbury High School where she obtained
her high school Diploma. She went on to complete her education at Kansas City Business College.
Phyllis worked for a brief time at Sears & Roebuck before retiring due to sickness at a young age. She was married twice during that time, being blessed with 5 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Phyllis raised her family in
Kansas City, Missouri.

Phyllis was baptized and accepted Christ into her life at an early age, She became a member of the Linwood Boulevard SDA Temple where she was a devoted member. Phyllis enjoyed going to church, reading, cooking holiday meals, and traveling. She
loved spending time with her family and friends.

Phyllis departed this life on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at home surrounded by those who loved her
the most. Her 9 siblings, 2 spouses, and 3 sons, Phillip, Darren, and Keith along with a host of other family and dear friends preceded her in death.

 Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory, son, Michael Johnson (Loretta); daughter, Gina Poole; brother,
Warren Hayes (Julie); grandchildren, Latrice, Lee, Cherlisa, Jahnae, Shakira, and Darren; greatgrandchildren, Jershawn, London, and Kaden; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 25, 2023, visitation will from 3 P.M. - 4 P.M. with the services beginning at 4 P.M. Linwood Boulevard Seven Day Adventist 4300 Linwood Blvd  KCMO 64128.
