Chaamayashya, lovingly known to many as Quincy Mabon, was born on May 9, 1992, 7lbs and 14 ounces at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Scotland, to Aaron Mabon Jr. and Tammy Mabon, currently Tammy Liggins. From the moment he entered this world, Quincy was a precious gift from the Most High Yahawah.

As the son of a United States Marine, Quincy spent much of his childhood as a military child, experiencing different places and cultures while learning the values of discipline, honor, resilience, and service. Following his father's honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps, the family returned home to Kansas City, Kansas, where Quincy continued to grow into the remarkable young man so many came to know and love.

He attended Kansas City Kansas Public Schools before the family later relocated to Raytown, Missouri. There, he continued his education and proudly graduated from the Raytown School District. During his school years, Quincy was an active and accomplished student-athlete. He participated in both football and wrestling, demonstrating determination, perseverance, leadership, and a competitive spirit that would characterize him throughout his life. He later became a business owner of Chaama Sights LLC where he landed contractual work with major corporations while in school to obtain his degree in cyber security.

While athletics occupied much of his youth, it was music that truly captured his heart. At just seven years old, Quincy discovered a passion that would become one of the defining gifts of his life. He began taking piano lessons from several gifted instructors, and it quickly became evident that the Most High had blessed him with an extraordinary musical gift. What began as childhood piano lessons soon developed into a lifelong calling and ministry.

As he matured, Quincy became an accomplished musician, songwriter, producer, arranger, recording engineer, and minister of music. His gifts opened doors to serve alongside numerous churches and ministries, and his excellence afforded him opportunities to contribute to productions associated with the renowned Bobby Jones Gospel ministry.

Quincy's musical influence extended well beyond the church. He proudly performed as a member of The Sumthin, Sumthin Band, where his exceptional keyboard skills, creativity, professionalism, and love for music earned the admiration of fellow musicians and audiences alike. He also served alongside his parents through their music ministry, Tez N Tam. Quincy was much more than their son, he became their trusted producer, arranger, keyboardist, recording engineer, and creative partner. He played a major role in writing, producing, arranging, and recording many of their songs, helping shape the sound and vision of their ministry. His fingerprints remain on every project he lovingly helped bring to life.

While music was one of his greatest passions, his deepest calling was serving the Most High Yahawah. January of 2011 Quincy became one of the founders of Renewed Hope House of Worship, where he faithfully served as the Minister of Music, using his God-given gifts to lead worship, inspire praise, and encourage the congregation through music. His heart for ministry extended far beyond the keyboard, as he devoted himself to helping build a ministry founded upon the Word of the Most High, faith, compassion, and service to His people.

On July 8, 2018, Quincy answered an even greater calling when he was ordained as Co-Pastor of Renewed Hope House of Worship. In this role, he faithfully ministered through preaching, teaching, counseling, worship, and shepherding the congregation. He believed ministry was far more than standing behind a pulpit; it meant loving people, serving others, strengthening families, and pointing hearts back to the God of Israel. Through his humility, wisdom, servant's heart, and unwavering faith, he touched countless lives and helped establish a ministry that continues to be a beacon of hope for many.

The first time Quincy and TaQueyla briefly met was at a bible study that was being held at his brother and sister and law’s house around December 2020. They would meet again and casually talked at his brother’s wedding in March 2021. Then they finally connected in April 2021 at his brother’s wife’s birthday celebration when Marquel (brother), Latasha (Marquel’s wife) and Jasmine (Quincy and Marquel’s cousin) decided to play matchmaker. They exchanged phone numbers and that weekend was filled with fun, deep conversations (TaQueyla recalls one of those conversations an interrogation lol) and laughter. TaQueyla put her guard up and put Quincy in the friend zone for three months, but he was determined to take it to the next level. Those three months were fun and a breath a fresh air with late night talks on the phone, Quincy sending TaQueyla love songs through text, night walks by the river, dinner dates, riding around town blasting the music, fasting (we fasted for seven days), prayer, scripture reading and we can’t forget about the boxing match. Quincy was the first to say I love and a few days later TaQueyla quit being in denial and realized she had fallen in love with Quincy. They made their relationship official on July 18 th 2021 and married on August 7 th 2021.

What drew TaQueyla to Quincy was his devotion to Yahawah (Hebrew for God) and his zeal to walk on Yah’s narrow path by keeping His laws, statues and commandments. TaQueyla received Yah’s truth in February 2020 and was beginning to walk on the same path. Quincy was what she needed to continue to be steadfast and dive deeper in Yahawah’s word (the bible). Chaamayashya was an outstanding teacher of the bible with so much knowledge, revelation and understanding. Chaamayashya and Yadaydath’s mission were to preach and teach repentance to our people (True Hebrews of the bible) so they can also walk on this narrow path to eternal life. Their marriage was filled with many challenges and obstacles that brought them closer together and their motto was, “we keep moving forward that is what we do.” Yadaydath will continue to carry out their mission as Chaamayashya faithfully did earthside, enduring until the end (“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:13 KJV).

Nothing brought Quincy greater joy than being a husband and father. His children were his greatest earthly blessing. He loved each one deeply, investing his time, wisdom, affection, and encouragement into their lives. Whether sharing laughter, teaching life lessons, making music, or simply spending time together, he created memories that will forever remain in their hearts.

To his wife, he was a faithful companion and best friend. To his children, he was their protector, teacher, and hero. To his parents, Quincy was a devoted son whose love and respect never wavered. To his brothers, he was a source of strength and encouragement. To his congregation, he was a faithful shepherd. To fellow musicians, he was an extraordinary talent and willing mentor. To his friends, he was loyal, dependable, compassionate, and genuine.

Although Chaamayashya's earthly journey ended far sooner than anyone could have imagined, his influence did not end with his passing. His music continues to minister. His teachings continue to inspire. His ministry continues to bear fruit. His family carries forward his legacy, and every life he touched stands as a testimony to the love he freely shared. "The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance." Psalm 112:6

Family

Chaamayashya was preceded in death by his beloved stepsister, Jodi Liggins Vogel, and his cherished maternal grandmother, Pastor Elnora Bilberry.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, TaQueyla Mabon (Yadaydath); his beloved children, Trinity-Love, Destiny, Neriah, Zephaniah, Harmony-Joy, Yada, Enoch, and twin daughters, Atarah and Zeruyah.

He is also survived by his loving parents, Tammy Liggins (Cortez) and Aaron Mabon Jr. (Eloise); his brothers, Marquel Bilberry (LaTasha) and Cortez Liggins Jr.; his grandparents, Aaron Mabon Sr. (Cindy), Sylvia Mabon, and Hubert Bilberry Sr.; along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, spiritual family, brothers and sisters in the faith, dear friends, fellow musicians, and all whose lives were forever touched by his love, ministry, friendship, and music.

Though our hearts grieve because his earthly journey ended unexpectedly, we also rejoice in the incredible legacy he leaves behind. His life reminds us that greatness is measured not by wealth or fame, but by the lives we touch, the love we share, and the faithfulness with which we serve the Most High Yahawah.

As a loving husband, a proud father, devoted son, a faithful pastor, a gifted musician, a trusted friend, and a humble servant of the Most High Yahawah, Chaamayashya lived a life filled with purpose.

His earthly song may have reached its final note, but the melody of his life will continue to echo through generations.

A service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services LLC, 2800 East 18th Street, KCMO 64127. The visitation will begin at 10:00-11:00 am, with the service to follow promptly at 11:00 am.
