Randall Lee Bridgewater passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 68. Born on February 25, 1957, Randy was the firstborn son of Richard and Karen Bridgewater in Hutchinson, Kansas. He is survived by Karen Bridgewater (mother), Melissa Friesen (sister), Mitch Bridgewater (brother), Nathan Bridgewater (son) and Sara Elmer (daughter) and five grandchildren, Alexis and Brendon Elmer, and Emma, Leah and Myla Bridgewater.
Randy loved the lake and fishing. He always spent way too long in the Carlson's bait shop. In December of 1989, Randy became the 13th heart transplant recipient at KU Medical Center. No longer able to be near lake water, he turned his passion towards odysseys, dune buggies, racing, trail riding, and the like. Randy's life was one of resilience. He survived 32 years longer than the doctors had anticipated. Probably because he always did his own thing. He was in a lot of pain towards the end, but passed away comfortably and peacefully at the Kansas City Hospice House on Sunday, April 27th, 2025.
