IN LOVING MEMORY OF RANDY JAY EVANS
JULY 28, 1959 - NOVEMBER 12TH, 2025
Randy Jay Evans passed away peacefully on the evening of Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 with his loving daughters by his side. After a sudden onset of serious health issues, he faced each challenge with a fierce determination and strength that was uniquely his own. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Randy was born in Maryville, MO to Russell and Kathryn (Brown) Evans on Tuesday, July 28th, 1959. He graduated from High School in Princeton, MO in 1977. Randy went on to work a number of skilled inventory control positions. His journey led him to Manhattan, Kansas where he spent the last decade of his professional life working for Kansas State University in their facilities department. He played a vital role in maintaining the campus and supporting its daily operations. He enjoyed sharing light hearted witty humor with his coworkers, and also took pride in being a Wildcat. Randy retired from K-State University in 2024.
Randy was a man who valued his routines, finding comfort and joy in the simple rhythms of daily life. Some of his favorite hobbies included listening to music, reading, and tuning in to Friday night high school and Saturday college football games on the radio. Fall was especially meaningful to him, and he cherished the crisp, cold weather that came with it. He was particularly fascinated by the movement of Canadian Geese.
While he enjoyed bird hunting earlier on in life, he later said that he no longer wished to bring harm to the creatures. Instead, he found joy in watching them move across the sky, their presence a reminder of the peaceful rhythms of nature.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Kathryn (Brown) Evans; sister Jennifer Evans; and brother Allen Evans. Randy is survived by his daughters, Kali Evans of Key Largo, Florida, and Haley Evans of Belton, Missouri; granddaughters Kylee and Nora Bennett; grandson Jude Pineiro; and great-grandson Niko Herbert. He is also survived by his sisters, Cheryl Fuston and Kathy Jo Evans-Krull; his brothers, Rusty and Tony Evans; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at Fairley Cemetery in Princeton, Missouri, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22nd, followed by lunch at 1:00 p.m. at Toot-Toot Family Restaurant & Lounge in Bethany, Missouri.
All are welcome to join, remember, and honor his life.
