Raymond Lee Forbes Sr.

“ To be absent from the body is to present with the Lord”
He was born to Clyde Thomas and Ruby Ellen Forbes on July 4, 1959 in Kansas City, MO. Raymond was educated within the KCMO Public School District. In 1976 he dedicated a segment of his life serving in the United States Army. Post his time spent as a soldier, Raymond met and married Catherine McKinney on May 30, 1988. From this union they were blessed with twin sons, Derrick and Darren.

Known as jack of all trades, Raymond also worked as chef for several restaurants throughout the Greater KC area. He dedicated his love and life to family and being TRUE to his nature. Cherishing family to no end, He would always make himself available to those in need. Rather it was a word of advice or oil change to your car, he will always be the definition of support.
Raymond Lee Forbes departed his life October 23, 2023 at St. Joseph Family Medical Care.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde T. Forbes Sr. And Ruby Ellen Forbes, son, Derrick Forbes, Siblings, Ruth D. Gilbert (Eli), Rathena A. Forbes, Robert E. Forbes, (Diane) and nephew, Marcus L. Forbes.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Catherine Forbes, sons: Raymond Gordon, Shawn
Gordon, Raymond Forbes Jr., Lavell Forbes, Darren Forbes; Siblings; Clyde T. Forbes Jr., Anita ‘Karen’ Ray (Eric), Anita C. Forbes (Robert), Marla Briggs (Michael), Leslie Forbes (Curtis),Johnny Forbes (Kellie), Clydetta Gilliam (Eddie) With love he leaves 15 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and friends beyond.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 9, 2023, visitation will be held from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. with services beginning at 11 A.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services,LLC located at 2800 East 18th st., KCMO 64127,

Interment  ; Friday November 10, 2023 @ 10:00 A.M.
