Richard Lee Bowen was born to Roy Junior Bowen and Mae A Brune (Dockery) at the US Army Hospital in Fort Carson, CO. Richard grew up in Leavenworth, KS. He attended Leavenworth Senior High School. Richard entered the US Army 12/1/72 at the age of 18 and was honorably Discharged 12/13/74. During his time in service he was a Motor Trans Operator driving heavy trucks.

Richard worked at several Industrial Cleaning positions: Janitorial for Leavenworth KS Board of Education, Janitorial Team Leader for Goodwill Industries, Project Manager/Team Director cleaning buildings and complexes at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.

Richard passed away @ Providence St. Margaret’s Hospital in Kansas City, KS surrounding by his children, siblings and loved ones.

Richard enjoyed playing guitar, music, fishing, camping and Harleys.

Richard was proceeded in death by his grandson Joshua Bowen Jr, father Roy Junior Bowen (unknown date), mother Mae Anna Brune (Dockery) 9/1/2005, brother Stanley Dean Bowen, Michael David Bowen, Maternal and Paternal Grandparents.

Richard is survived by his 2 son’s. His oldest Joshua Lee (Kaydee) Bowen of Stockton, MO and their 4 children: Skyler, Kiara and Jager Bowen. Harmonie Slaven. His youngest son Dustin Bowen of St Augustine, FL and his 4 children Rachel, Julian, Gabriella and Russell.

Siblings: Debra (Dale) Beurman of Oskaloosa, KS. Ron (Nancy)Bowen of Cherokee Village, AR, Tony (partner Trish) Bowen of Leavenworth, KS, Lisa Bender of Leavenworth KS. Loyal Home Care Provider Sharon Kay Harrington and his best friend Chris Stathas both of Leavenworth, KS.

Internment to be announced at a later date. Mr. Bowen will be buried in Leavenworth, KS at the VA National Cemetery
