IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Thomas
Gehrer
July 10, 1980 – January 7, 2026
Richard “Rick” Gehrer was born on July 10, 1980, in Mountain View, California, to Sandra and David Gehrer, beginning an extraordinary life full of resilience, growth, and love.
Rick was educated, but in his younger years he chose to run wild in the streets of the Bay Area. As life unfolded, he found purpose through hard work and determination. He worked as a robotics mechanic for Amazon, and later discovered newfound strength and courage while overcoming multiple sclerosis.
Rick’s life changed forever when he welcomed his daughter, Alicia, inspiring him to transform his life and walk a new path. He went on to achieve over 18 years of Narcotics Anonymous, a testament to his perseverance and dedication.
Rick met and married his loving wife, Katrena, and together they created a beautiful blended family. He leaves behind his daughter Alicia, and his bonus children: daughters Gabriella, Samantha, and Cecilia, and son Ernesto.
Rick had a love for comic books and Star Wars, but his greatest joy was being a devoted Papa to his three grandchildren: Maya, Kekini, and Mateo.
Richard departed this life on January 7, 2026. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian; his grandparents, Victor and Mary Ann Pawl; and his grandmother, Barbara Gehrer.
He is survived by his parents, Sandra and David Gehrer; his wife, Katrena; his sister, Lisa Leroy; his grandfather, Richard Gehrer; his nieces, Rylee and Kylee Leroy; his nephew, Hunter Gehrer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Rick’s mother, father, wife, daughter, bonus children, and grandchildren celebrate his remarkable life and the legacy of strength and love he leaves behind.
