Richard Reed Sallaz II, 64, of Kansas City, Missouri, entered his eternal rest on June 5, 2026, peacefully at home. 

Richard was born on November 6, 1961, to Beatrice Lillian Sallaz(Brunson) and Richard Reed Sallaz. He was the second of five children. Richard attended Winnetonka High School and spent his entire life in Kansas City, Missouri.  Richard loved his family deeply. He was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, husband, and friend. Throughout his career as a skilled master painter, Richard was known for his precision, strong work ethic, and attention to detail. He took pride in perfecting his craft. For decades, he brought beauty and color to homes and businesses throughout the Kansas City area. 

Richard enjoyed spending time with family, reading, listening to music, and sharing good meals. He especially loved cookies. Above all else, his greatest joy in life was his family. Richard was blessed with two daughters, Cassie Dawn Sallaz and Stephanie Diane Roach (Sallaz).

He leaves behind his loving mother, Beatrice Lillian Sallaz of Kansas City, Missouri.

His eldest daughter, Cassie Dawn Sallaz(Benjamin Hamilton), of Brookfield, Missouri, and their children: Anessa Nichple Cox, Devon Charles Cox, Michael Patrick Hamilton, Lilliana Elaine Sallaz Helm, Myanna Arleene Kile, and Paislynn Amar Sallaz. 

His youngest daughter, Stephanie Diane Roach(Sallaz) (Jimmie Roach) of Gladstone, Missouri, and their children: Lea Nichole Roach, Amanda Dawn Roach, Anthony Phillips Roach, Austin James Michael Meyers, Kailey Carmel Grace Roach, Skyler Sallaz Dodd, James Duncan Dodd, Morgan Madison Elizabeth Roach, Jimmie Wayne Roach Jr., and Ellalynn Beatrice Roach: his great-grand children: Kyrie Jermon Jenkins, Phoenix Wayne Roach, Atlas Armani Jenkins, and Briella Marie Ryne. His brothers: Russell Keith Sallaz of Denver, Colorado, and Randall Paul Sallaz of Kansas City, Missouri; his youngest sister, Dawn Louise McIntire(Bill McIntire) of Eugene, Oregon; and four nieces, Rachel, Rebecca, Ellen, and Nikki, along with their families.  Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard Reed Sallaz; his wife, Vickie Lynn Sallaz; his sister, Cynthia Anne Kirk(Sallaz); his grandson, Lucas Reed Helm Jr., and his great-grandson, Perseus Michael Henry

Richard's kindness, dedication, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he cherished.
