Ronald James Ripper was born August 18, 1947 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Arthur and Kathleen Ripper. Ron grew up in Saint Louis and graduated from Affton High School. Ron joined the Air Force and spent much of his service time in Alaska. After returning from the service, Ron became an Air Traffic Controller and his son Sean and daughter Dawn were born. Ron married Linda, the love of his life in 1984 and became stepdad to their son Brock. Ron’s new career in the telecommunications field had him and Linda crisscrossing the Midwest, living in Iowa, Oklahoma and Arkansas before moving back to Kansas City. Ron always loved fishing, hunting and just about anything outdoors. Ron retired in 2009 and spent his time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Ron passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Ripper and Kathleen Kupferer, his stepfather Paul Kupferer, his brother Jimmy Ripper, his brother in law Glenn Bardle, his stepsister Marcella (Rick) Schmerber and his son Brock Skaggs. He is survived by his wife Linda, his son Sean (Lyn) Ripper, his daughter Dawn Ripper, his sisters Kathy Bardle, Judy (Vic) Promnitz and Debbie (Rick) Barnes and his grandchildren Hannah, Chase, Anissa, Madison, Nina, Luke and Cashin. He leaves behind many other family members and friends that he loved.

Ron will be remembered as a man with a great smile who could fill a room with laughter. If he loved you, he never let you forget it. He will be greatly missed.
