Rontez Dabryon Donahue, affectionately known as "Tez," was born on June 14, 2008, to Sparkle Donahue and LeRon Morris. From the moment he entered this world, he brought joy, laughter, and an unforgettable presence into the lives of those who loved him.
Rontez spent his early childhood in the Kansas City area before relocating to St. Joseph, Missouri. In 2023, he and his family returned to Kansas City, where he attended Kansas City Public Schools. On May 16, 2026, he proudly graduated from Kintsugi High School, a milestone that reflected his perseverance and determination. Looking toward the future, Rontez had plans to enlist in the United States Marines, eager to build a life of purpose and service.
A young man with many talents and interests, Rontez enjoyed boxing, baseball, football, and chess. He loved writing music, listening to his favorite artist, NBA YoungBoy, and expressing himself through creativity. Whether spending time with family or making memories with friends, he had a gift for bringing smiles to those around him.
Known by many as the family's "fix-it" man, Rontez believed he could solve almost anything. He was hardworking, determined, and full of ambition, holding jobs at Main Event Bowling Alley and Dollar General while preparing for the future he envisioned.
Those who knew Rontez will remember his infectious smile, quick wit, and larger-than-life personality. He loved making people laugh and never missed an opportunity to enjoy life's simple pleasures. McDonald's fries and Takis were among his favorite snacks, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with his siblings, cousins, extended family, and close friends. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and joy wherever he went.
Rontez was baptized and raised in the Christian faith at Gilbert Memorial AME Church. His faith served as a foundation throughout his life, and his kindness, compassion, and loving heart reflected the values instilled in him from an early age.
He was preceded in death by his uncles Laron Sanders and Lamar Dawkins; his grandmother, Barbara Donahue; his aunts Sandra Clark and Harriet Powell; and his cousins Marco Summers, Darrell Darrough, and Derrick Donahue.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving and devoted mother, Sparkle Donahue; his father, LeRon Morris; his grandmothers, LaTroy Weathers and Michelle Griffin; his grandfathers, Howard Donahue and Harvey Dawkins; his great-grandfather, Howard Donahue; his uncles Brian Donahue and JaRon Sanders; his sisters, LaStarr Donahue and DyNasty Donahue; his brothers, LeRon Morris, Jr. and Kam'Ron Morris; his aunt Chloe Donahue; along with a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Although Rontez's earthly journey was far too brief, the impact he made will live on forever. His strength, laughter, kindness, determination, and beautiful spirit left an imprint on every heart he touched. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
