Rosie B. Hill was born in Moorehead, Mississippi, to proud parents Marion L. Bowie-Hill and Walter Hill Sr. Rosie was educated at Sumner High Academy in KCK, along with two years at KCK Community College for nursing. She loved and cherished GOD and her family. Rosie was an amazing cook. She worked as a CNA, chef, and pre-K educator. The job she did best was being an amazing mother to Carla Oakley.

Rosie accepted Christ at an early age. Rosie was never married; she had only one child, Carla, by Carl Oakley. She cherished being a great-grandmother to her two cute glam babies. She also enjoyed going to Don Bosco Senior Center. Playing bingo with her friends was her favorite, especially when she won Blackout! Rosie loved nature, going to parks, and watching game shows. She loved Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. She had a calm and passionate heart for others; she never knew a stranger and gave the best advice.

Rosie departed this life on August 28, 2026. Briana Oakley(granddaughter), Marion L.Bowie-Hill(mother), Walter Hill Sr.(father), three sisters, three brothers, and countless loved ones and friends preceded her in death.

Jones and granddaughter Dede Jones, two great-grandbabies, sisters; Neola Hill, Lucinda Petty,

Ethelrine Reed, Helen Carson, nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services LLC, 2800 East 18th Street, KCMO 64127. There will not be a visitation. The memorial will begin promptly at 11:00 am.
