In Loving Memory Of Ryan “Sarge” Douglas Payne

Ryan Douglas Payne was born March 26th, 1965, in Le Mars, Iowa, to Donald Loren Payne and Peggy June Payne. He spent much of his childhood in Hermitage, MO, and played basketball throughout high school. After high school, he served in the United States Army, and his love for this country lasted until the very end. He lived most of his adult life in Kansas, where he raised his five children. He was an excellent pistol handler, woodworker, self-defense trainer, and scuba diver. He retired in Utila, Honduras, and became a Master Scuba Instructor there. It was his favorite job. The gym was often his haven, and he worked hard to stay strong and healthy. Despite this, Ryan passed away from cancer on January 6th, 2026, in Kansas City, KS, at the age of 60. He is survived by his five children (Nathan Loren, Jeremy Dean, Tanner Ryan, Olivia (Payne) Elliott, Camille (Payne) Mazzanti), 12 grandchildren, and three siblings (Richard Loren, Reba Sharon, Randall Keith). He is predeceased by his parents, Donald and Peggy. Memorial service to follow for immediate family.
