Sarah Ann
Boyette(Reed)
Oct 5, 1947 — Aug 29, 2026
Kansas City
Sarah Ann Boyette was born on October 5, 1947, in Center Ridge, Arkansas, to the late Cassie and Eddie Reed. She was the fifth of eight children: Melvin Hawkins, Wilma Virgil, Ola Nelson, Lois Devlin, Eddie Reed, Ellis Reed, and Sandra Baker. She peacefully transitioned from this life on the morning of August 29, 2026. Sarah committed her life to Christ at an early age and, as a young adult, moved to Kansas City, where she would build a life centered around faith, family, service, and love. Sarah married Frank Boyette on June 17, 1981, and from their union came two children, Frederick Reed (Brenda Reed) and Sarita Boyette. Following the passing of her youngest sister, Sandra, Sarah lovingly opened her heart and home to raise her niece, Niyko Baker, whom she loved as her own. Sarah was blessed with a special gift for loving, nurturing, and teaching children.
Professionally, she worked as an Early Childhood Paraprofessional until her retirement. Even after retiring, her love for children continued to shine as she worked in childcare, pouring into the lives of young people. Her passion for children extended far beyond her profession. She faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher for much of her life and as a youth counselor, continuing in ministry until her health began to decline. Sarah had a deep desire to teach children about Christ and help them grow in their faith.
Sarah was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma over thirty years ago. Though God healed the cancer, the treatment caused decades of health challenges that ultimately led to her last moments. Sarah leaves to cherish her memory her two children,
Frederick Reed (Brenda Reed) and Sarita Boyette; her daughter by love, Niyko Baker; her grandchildren; her siblings, Ola Nelson, Eddie Reed, and Ellis Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Boyette; her parents, Cassie and Eddie Reed; and her siblings, Melvin Hawkins, Wilma Virgil, Lois Devlin, and Sandra Baker.
Sarah will forever be remembered for her kindness, her love for others, her devotion to her family, her faithfulness to God, and the sweet and gentle spirit she carried throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the children she taught, the people she served, the family she loved, and the many lives she touched
