Scott Warren Harris

Mr. Scott Warren Harris, 59, passed away on May 1, 2025, in Olathe, Kansas. Born on July 29, 1965, in Omaha, Nebraska, Scott lived a life marked by dedication to his family, a strong work ethic, and a generous spirit.

Scott attended Jay Public Schools and graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa. Over the years, he built a diverse and accomplished career. Most recently employed at US Bank, he was recognized with multiple awards for his contributions. His professional journey also included roles at Vanguard Airlines, Walmart, Price Chopper, and St. Luke’s Hospital—each position reflecting his commitment to hard work and service.

Beyond his career, Scott had many passions that brought him joy and fulfillment. He loved traveling to Hawaii and found peace in the presence of the ocean. A natural handyman, he took pride in fixing electrical systems, HVAC units, painting projects, and home remodeling tasks. His love for dogs was evident throughout his life, as he cared for several beloved pets over the years.

Scott’s heart was as big as his skillset. He was known for helping others whenever he could—whether it was assisting someone in finding employment or lending a hand with a project. He had a deep interest in genealogy and spent countless hours researching his family history. This passion led him to connect with both immediate and extended relatives across generations and distances. Family meant everything to Scott; he cherished each member deeply and made it known through both words and actions.

He is survived by his son, Deriek Harris; daughter, Kandace Harris; sisters, Elizabeth E. Canada and Sharon K. Senf; stepson, Francisco Benitez; brother-in-law, Luis Ramon Contreras; cousin, Suzanne Davidson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who were touched by his kindness.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Joseph E. Harris; mother, Bessie L. Harris; sister, Peggy Harris; brother, Joseph W. Harris; and sister, Joyce Ann Carbaugh.
