In Loving Memory of Shalondra Shalise Hughes
February 25, 1973 – October 14, 2025
With heartfelt love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Shalondra Shalise Hughes, a beautiful soul whose light, love, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on February 25, 1973, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Patricia and the late William Howard, Shalondra was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend. She received her education at Southeast High School, where she built lifelong friendships and a foundation of perseverance that carried her through every chapter of her life.
Shalondra’s professional journey reflected her commitment and diligence. She proudly served as an Accountant for Yellow Cab from 2008 until she began her courageous battle with cancer. Through her strength and unwavering faith, she continued to inspire those around her with her grace and resilience. Among her greatest accomplishments was raising her two beautiful children, Shyaine Shylise Hughes and Steven Scott Thierry Jr., who were the light of her life. In recent years, her joy was multiplied with the arrival of her precious grandson, Major Scott Hughes, who became her sunshine through even the hardest days. Major gave her renewed strength, laughter, and purpose—his presence brought her so much happiness and helped her fight longer, live fuller, and smile brighter. Their bond was truly special and unbreakable.
Shalondra leaves to cherish her loving memory: her devoted mother Patricia Howard, her beloved children Shyaine and Steven, her adored grandson Major, her brother Dominic Hughes, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her father, William Howard.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.” — Revelation 21:4
