The Bold and Strong Sondra M. Myers was born on November 18, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo., to George and Mary Perkins. She was one of 13 children. Sondra received her education in the Kansas City, Mo., School District, graduating from Westport High School. She spent a fulfilling 27 -year career in Social Services, starting as a caseworker and eventually retiring as a Supervisor. She enjoyed cooking and playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by both parents: George and Mary Perkins, Quincy Nunn, Regina Perkins, Ronnisha Henderson, Ed Nelson, Mary Addison-Perkins, Reginald Perkins, Ronnell Perkins, and Larry Perkins. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Ray Myers; two children: Cassie Perkins, Cynthia Perkins; four grandchildren: Rodney Tatum Jr., Quincy Perkins, Carla Benton, and Nic Hudson; and seven great-grandchildren. Her siblings: Renda Williams, Linda Perkins, Terry Nunn, Diane Perkins, Vanessa Lipsey, Alton Perkins-Bey, Tracy Perkins, Renwick Perkins, Gregory Perkins, Daniel Perkins. Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.  

A Memorial will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, 2800 East 18th Street, KCMO. 64127. There will be no wake. The service will begin promptly at 3:00 pm.
