With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Steven Michael Schneider, lovingly known as Steve. He departed this world peacefully on December 18, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Loved to Love Church of the Nazarene, located in the Westport Central Apartment Building at 301 W. Armour Blvd., Suite 01W, Kansas City, Missouri. Reverend Sarah McGee will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Golden Gate Funeral and Cremation Services.
Steve was born on June 9, 1958, to Robert and Barbara Schneider. He held a deep loyalty and appreciation for his family and friends throughout his life.
A lifelong resident of Kansas City, Steve graduated from Pembroke Hill High School before pursuing higher education in business administration. He earned his degree from Kansas State University. Following graduation, Steve worked in the auto sales industry, first alongside his father and later as an independent dealer.
Steve’s life was firmly anchored in family and love. He shared a devoted partnership with his husband, Aaron, for the past fifteen years. He cherished time spent with his brother and sister-in-law, Rob Schneider and his wife, Lita, as well as his nephew, Sky Curtis. He also held dear the moments shared with his sister, Suzy Carey, and her partner, David Gonzales.
Steve was known for his warm smile, dry sense of humor, and kind, caring nature. An accomplished cook and loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan, he found joy in traveling with Aaron to visit friends and explore new places. He had a talent for fixing things and loved tinkering with gadgets and cars. His thoughtful spirit and gentle presence will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his spouse, Aaron Johnson; his brother and sister-in-law, Rob Schneider and wife Lita; his sister, Suzy Carey, and her partner, David Gonzales; and his nephew, Sky Curtis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara Schneider.
