Thelma Lee Johnson, born October 18, 1951, peacefully departed this life on March 24, 2026. She was born to the late Floyd “Baby” Jones and Nettie B. Jones. Thelma was the second oldest of ten children and was preceded in death by her parents and four of her siblings.

Thelma was a devoted and loving mother to her five children: Eric Clark (Demetrica Clark), Monte Carlo Clark, Kesha Clark, ShaTonda Clark (Toby Davis), and Stephanie Hooker (Spencer Hooker Jr). She poured her heart into her family and was a constant source of strength, wisdom, and love.

She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Anthony, Talisha, Deric, Montez, Mikeia, Vernon, Veronica, Eric, Erica, Madison, Terriana, Terry, Terron, Savon Irby, DeAnthony, Aireinna, and TraMayne. She also leaves behind a host of beloved great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Her grandson, Savon Irby, preceded her in death.

She is also survived by her siblings: Nettie and Darryl Houston, Betty and Kenneth Taylor, Freddy and Thelma Williams, David Jones and Patricia Jones, and Dessa Horace. She also had a very special love for her nieces and nephews, whom she cherished deeply, supported wholeheartedly, and embraced as her own children, always offering guidance, laughter, and unconditional love.

Thelma pursued her education at Pioneer College, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and lifelong learning.

Known for her strength and honesty, Thelma was a loving but firm mother who always “told it like it is.” Her guidance, wisdom, and unwavering love shaped the lives of those around her. She found great joy in music and treasured every moment spent with her family, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever.

Thelma’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and truth. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
