Thomas W. Shavnore Sr.

March 11, 1949 – December 1, 2025

Thomas W. Shavnore Sr, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on December 1, 2025, in his home surrounded by family.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Pat; his son TJ and daughter-in-law Jackie; grandsons Quinton and Jackson; his son Kevin and grandson Nick; and his daughter Toni and grandson Aiden. He is preceded in death by his grandson Kameron.

Tom was an extraordinary and loving father and grandfather who never missed a chance to express how deeply he loved his family and how proud he was of each of them.

He served his country with honor in the United States Army, carrying his sense of duty and integrity with him throughout his life. Tom had a lifelong passion for coaching and guiding young athletes for many years. His knowledge, patience, and encouragement touched countless lives and left a lasting and meaningful impact on all who had the privilege of being coached by him.

Tom was a great man—kind, loyal, and deeply loving. His presence will be missed beyond measure.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Kansas City VA Fisher House.
