Tyler Dion Watson

Tyler Dion Watson was born on December 8, 1991, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lawrence Curry and Brandy Watson.

He received his education in the Raymore-Peculiar School District, where he was well known for his athletic talents, especially in football and basketball.

As a child, Tyler cherished camping trips with his Grandpa, Lawrence Anderson, and spending time at Maw-Maw’s house, Debra Watson, where he was always spoiled with his favorite foods.

Tyler deeply loved his family and shared a close bond with his sisters Brandy, Taylor, and Kenya. Each sister had her own reason for believing he was the greatest brother ever. He was protective, supportive, and always present for them.

At an early age, Tyler gave his life to Christ and was baptized by the late Pastor Thuston Packnett Sr. of Redemption COGIC. He enjoyed singing in the choir and would occasionally lead a song with heartfelt joy.

Tyler had a wide circle of friends who quickly became like family. He had a natural gift for making people laugh and lighting up any room he walked into. His big heart and joyful spirit were felt by all who knew him.

He had a special love for animals and especially adored caring for his dogs, most of all his favorite, Mena.

Though his time with us was far too short, Tyler’s impact on the lives of those who loved him will never fade. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tyler was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lawrence Anderson and Sherrell Dorn, and his beloved sister, Brandy Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother Brandy Watson, father Lawrence Curry, and bonus mother Gwendolyn Williams. He is also survived by his sisters Taylor Miller and Kenya Curry, maternal grandparents Debra Watson and Robert Watson Jr., uncles Robert Watson III (Charnice) and Dan Williams, aunts Kyra Farrow, Laurience Lacey, Shayshalena Anderson, and Tina Williams, two nieces, three nephews, and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends who loved him deeply.

A wake and visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Boone Tabernacle Church of God In Christ 1317 E. 12th St. Kansas City, Mo 64106.
