TyShun Anthony Bigby, 28, of North Kansas City, MO, passed away on Sunday, April 19th, 2026, at his home. He was born on November 25th, 1997, in Kansas City, MO, to Anzarita LaRaine Bigby. TyShun was lovingly raised by his grandmother, LaRaine Allen, who he fondly called Nana, and his grandfather, Nelvin L. Allen, whom he referred to as Dad.
Ty`Shun was preceded in death by his mother, Anzarita LaRaine Bigby, and by his great-grandmothers, Nettie B. Mitchell and Addie M. Huff, as well as his great-grandfathers, Harvey O. Mitchell and John W. Bigby.
He is survived by his siblings: Ryan C. Cheatham, C’ara L. Cheatham, Alonta L. Grayson, Donaven J. Allen Sr., Devin L. Allen, and Matthew T. Whitten-Allen. He is also survived by his grandfathers, Edward A. Mitchell and Quentin L. West. Additionally, Ty`Shun leaves behind several aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, his lifelong best friend and sister, Renae M. Tapia, and a host of close friends.
Ty'Shun accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized. He continued to attend church throughout his life. A proud graduate of Winnetonka High School, North Kansas City, TyShun graduated in 2016, where he was known for his talents in music and sports. He was a standout member of the school’s Concert Choir, Marching Band, and Soccer Team, and was a double Varsity letterman in choir and band. He placed second at the district level of music competition, showcasing his dedication and passion for his craft.
In his early career, TyShun worked at Stroud's Chicken, where he began building a strong work ethic. After high school, he managed Dunkin' Donuts for a time before moving on to Red Robin, where he worked for nearly 10 years as a waiter, bartender, and manager, most recently before his passing. TyShun often spoke of his work ethic, which he attributed to his grandfather, Nelvin L. Allen, who worked tirelessly, often juggling multiple jobs, to provide for his family.
Ty'Shun had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He loved walking with his dog, Terry, and spending time with friends. He enjoyed movie nights with his closest companions, karaoke, and trips to the lake. TyShun also loved shopping, listening to music, and working with a positive attitude that was contagious to everyone around him. His musical tastes ranged from artists like Tate McRae, Beyoncé, Russ, and Kesha, to a wide variety of other genres.
Ty`Shun will be deeply missed by all who knew him for his generous spirit, his vibrant energy, and his unwavering positivity.
A service will be held Monday May 04, 2026 at Grace Way Church 5460 Blue Ridge Cutoff. Raytown Mo. 64133. The visitation will begin at 9:30-10:30 am, with the service to follow promptly at 10:30 am. Interment will take place following the service at Brooking Cemetery 10004 E. 53rd St. Kansas City , Mo. 64133
