IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vickie Kay
Canada
May 4, 1967 – December 12, 2025
Vickie Kay Canada, 58, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at Villages of Jackson Creek, surrounded by her loving family. Vickie fought a long and courageous battle with renal failure until the very end.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Judy Canada and John R. Canada, along with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
Vickie leaves behind her lifelong partner, Jeff Barker; her brother, John D. Canada, and wife Tanya; her sister, Pamela Clintsman, and husband Jeremy; her niece, Sierra Canada; nephews Kyle and Cole Canada and Jeremy Clintsman, Jr., and wife Kaitlyn; great-nephews Grayson, Gunner, and Karson Canada; and her great-niece, Galilee Clintsman.
Although Vickie never had children of her own, she loved them deeply. She devoted much of her life to caring for and raising other people’s children through her long career in childcare, working for many years at a daycare center.
Vickie loved life. She enjoyed visiting the casino whenever she could, and scary movies were her favorite—especially the Alien movie series, which she loved more than any other. Above all, she adored her dogs, Bindi Lou and Cash, who were truly her children and whom she leaves behind.
Vickie’s wishes were to be cremated and to have no funeral or memorial services. A private family gathering will be held at a later date, in accordance with her request.
Vickie will be missed immensely by the many who knew and loved her.
