Virgil Bryan Golden, born May 13, 1956, in Corbin, Kentucky, to Verlan Golden and Mary Betty

Hibbard Golden, passed away December 10, 2025, surrounded by his by family. He was the only child born of this union. Virgil shared 47 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Beverly Sue Miller Golden. From this union were born two children, Charlie Bryan Golden and Celina Golden Evans and Husband Jared Daniel Evans. He was also a proud and loving godfather to Carrie Brooks. 

Virgil leaves behind his wife, Beverly; his children, Charlie and Celina; and his treasured grandchildren, the lights of his world, Allie Laura Elizabeth Evans and Rosalyn Elle McLain Evans. He is also survived by dear friends Katy Brooks, Erma Davis, and Bill Brooks; four brothers; four sisters; many nieces, nephews, cousins, a once in a lifetime friend Eddie Smith, and countless special friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Verlan Golden and Mary Betty Hibbard Golden, along with many other loved ones who welcomed him home. Virgil will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his loyal friendships, since of humor, and his larger-than-life personality he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him.

A celebration-of-life ceremony will be held in Knox County Kentucky in the summer of 2026. A notification will be sent out as soon as the plans are finalized.
