Willard Henry Thompson

Willard Henry Thompson was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma; first born to Walter and Ida Mae Thompson.

Willard was educated in Oklahoma, served in the Navy, and worked hard until retirement from GSA in 1992.

Willard met and married Zella Mae Boykin in 1977. Blessed with one daughter, Lucretia Ophelia Thompson (House.)

Willard enjoyed visiting racetracks and casinos in his midlife. In his latter day, he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandson’s Jeremiah, JC, and Timothy.

Willard spent his last days in his baby girl’s home surrounded by family and love. He departed this life on February 8, 2024, peacefully.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers - Bernard Thompson and Dwight Thompson and two sons Derrick Thompson and Craedel Boykin.

Willard leaves to cherish his memory his children Lisa Wilson 61, Marva Combs 56, Kim Boykin 54, Lucretia House 40; siblings Christella, Margie, Helen, Deborah, Judy and Derrick; grandchildren; greatgrandchildren and other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, visitation will be from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. with services beginning at 3 P.M. at Golden Gate located at 2800 East 18th Street Kansas City, Missouri 64127.
