William “Big Bill” Hollingsworth passed away on May 25, 2026, in Marysville, Kansas.

Bill was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, to William Hollingsworth and Bertha Lee. They lived in Oklahoma till he was 2 then traveled most of his younger years around Arizona. At the age of 13, he moved to the Wellton Mohawk Valley area in Arizona. He graduated from Antelope High School in Wellton, Arizona, where he excelled in both football and baseball. Bill was a four-year letterman in both sports, played pitcher for the Antelope High School baseball team, and was part of the football team that placed second in the state playoffs during his senior year. His talent on the baseball field earned him a scholarship to play baseball at a junior college in Southern California. His love for sports continued after graduation, and he enjoyed playing softball in his spare time.

Bill worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and foreman. He was hardworking, strong, and dependable.

Bill married Dianne Farar and together they had two children, Ron and Amy. He later married the love of his life, Carol Webster, on November 24, 1979, in Reno, Nevada. Together they had their daughter, Megan Blacketer.

Bill traveled for his work all over the U.S. he had been to all 50 states and created and provided a lot of memories for Carol and Megan. They moved to Hollenberg, KS in 1995 and after a house fire in 2025 they moved to Marysville, KS.

In his later years, Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his grandkids Zane, Emma, and Aria. He will be remembered for his love of family, his hardworking nature, and the memories he created with those he loved.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his parents; and his siblings, Ruby, Buck, Barbara, Rocky, and Jeanie.

He is survived by his daughter, Megan Blacketer and her husband Terry; his sisters, Dorthy and Carol Sue; and his grandchildren, Zane, Emma, and Aria Blacketer, Alex Jones, Vanessa Leslie, J.P. Hollingsworth, Ben Madison,and Peyton Studer.
