Willie Meeks was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Zeola Mae Meeks. Willie accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Victorious Life Church. He was educated in public schools in Kansas City, Missouri, attended Central High School, and worked for Golden Gates as a Mortuary transport specialist. He was also a former limo and cab driver. Willie was known as a hard worker; he loved working and providing for his family. Willie loved being surrounded by his family and taking long drives with his lifelong partner. He loved doing sudoku puzzles and playing his old-school and Christian music.

Willie lived his life to the fullest. He was a loving partner, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His life was a blessing to all who knew him, and his love and guidance will continue to be remembered for generations.

Willie leaves behind his lifelong partner, Janet B. Hanley, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship.

He also leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Janet H, Amber B, Ashley B, Crystal B, Meyokia W, and Latasha S.; his two step-sons Jimmy H and Joshua P.; his sons-in-law Lorenzo W. and Marlon M., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many other relatives and dear friends whose lives he touched.

Though Willie will be deeply missed, his love, wisdom, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services LLC: 2800 East 18th Street, KCMO 64127. There will not be a visitation. The service will begin promptly at 3:00 pm.
