Yelenia Sue
McMurlyn(Davidovich)
Mar 10, 1952 — Sep 28, 2026
Lee's Summit
Yelenia Sue McMurlyn, March 10, 1952 – September 28, 2026. Yelenia Sue McMurlyn, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, on September 28, 2026. Born on March 10, 1952, in Silverton, Colorado, Yelenia carried with her a love of the mountains, a deep devotion to family, and an appreciation for the simple joys that make life meaningful. Yelenia grew up and began her family in Colorado, where some of her fondest memories were made among the mountains she loved so dearly. Whether fishing, camping with family, or cruising through the Rockies in her convertible VW Bug, she found happiness in the beauty of the outdoors and the moments shared with those she loved. Throughout her life, she called Colorado, California, South Dakota, Iowa, and Missouri home, creating cherished memories and lasting connections along the way. Yet, no matter where life took her, the Colorado mountains always held a special place in her heart and remained a place she longed to return to. On May 29, 1971, Yelenia married the love of her life, Clifford LeRoy McMurlyn, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Together, they built a life grounded in love, family, and shared experiences. Their years together were filled with devotion, laughter, and memories that would remain treasured throughout her life. Yelenia was a proud mother to her two daughters, Stephanie Hageman (Ryan) and Michele Wisnasky (Tom), who were among her greatest blessings. Her love for family only grew with each passing generation, and she treasured her role as a grandmother. Her six grandchildren— Taylor Hageman, Colton Hageman (Erica Dolph), Dylan Hageman (Mackenzie), Brecken Wisnasky, William Wisnasky, and Broden Wisnasky—brought her immeasurable joy. She loved attending their events, celebrating their accomplishments, and cheering them on from the sidelines. Being present in their lives was one of the greatest ways she expressed her love. Yelenia was the daughter of Stephen Davidovich and Anna Marie Shilling and grew up alongside her brothers, George Davidovich (Sue Sanders), Stephen Davidovich, Frank Davidovich, and Bill Davidovich (Maria). Family was an important part of her life, and the bonds they shared created memories that will continue to bring comfort and connection to those who loved her. Beyond her family, Yelenia found happiness in the things that made each day special. She enjoyed reading spiritual books, finding comfort and inspiration in their words. A devoted Denver Broncos and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, she never missed an opportunity to cheer on her teams. She also loved watching her favorite television shows, listening to music, and attending concerts. These simple pleasures brought her joy and were part of the everyday moments that made her life uniquely her own. One of the most beautiful reflections of Yelenia’s heart was her love for animals. Her pets were never simply companions; they were family. Lady, Snickers, Ozzie, Buster, Tuffy, Callie, Simba, and the others who shared her life brought her comfort, happiness, and unconditional love. She devoted herself to their care and well-being, and her tenderness toward them was a reflection of the kindness and affection she extended throughout her life. Yelenia attended Journey Church, where her faith remained an important part of her life. She looked forward to Sunday services, finding peace and reflection in worship and comfort in being surrounded by family, music, and God. Her faith provided a meaningful connection to the things she held most dear. Yelenia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifford LeRoy McMurlyn; her parents, Stephen Davidovich and Anna Marie Shilling; her brother, Stephen Davidovich; her mother-in-law, Helen Snow; and her father-in-law, Clifford McMurlyn. Though her family and friends must now navigate a world without her physical presence, the love she gave will never leave them. Her memory will live on in her daughters, grandchildren, brothers, extended family, and all those fortunate enough to have known her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and a reminder to find joy in the people, places, and simple blessings that make life meaningful. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten
