David Dwight Goodpaster, age 69, passed away on April 24, 2026.

Born on December 27, 1956, to Ronald Goodpaster and Shirley Weatherford (Thompson), David lived a life defined by hard work, humor, and a deep love for his family. He graduated from Raytown High School in 1975 and went on to spend 46 years working as an electrician, a career he was proud of and dedicated to throughout his life.

David had a gift for making people laugh and bringing joy to those around him. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and gardening, but above all, he cherished his family and Jesus.

He is survived by his sons, Jeremy Brandon, Matthew Goodpaster (Amanda), and Christopher Goodpaster (Sabrina); his sisters, Nancy Loving, Debi Kleiner (Ron), and Cheril Pontius; and his brother, Kyle Goodpaster. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kelly Goodpaster; his sister, Melody McKeever; and his brother, Tracy Goodpaster.

David will be remembered for his laughter, his strength, and the love he shared so freely. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on in their hearts.
